My old dog has bloody, foul-smelling urine. Is it time to say goodbye?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 13 years and 1 month old | 15 lbs

My dog is 13years old and has started to urinate everywhere. She needs assistance walking. Recently there has been blood and a foul odor in the urine. My parents think it's time to put her down but I don't know how to make that decision.

This is a decision you need to make with your vet, he will check her and give you his opinion regarding her general condition. the blood in the urine might be a simple infection but it might also be cancer.
