My 6-month puppy bites hard when I put on her harness. Vet or training?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 6 months and 15 days old | 54.3 lbs

Nova is 6 months and still bites. Her bites are hard and sometimes feel like aggression. Specifically when I try to put harness on. Is there any way her biting will get better? Since last few days she is cranky and irritated do you think it's a veterinarian issue or training issue.

It sounds like Nova could benefit from a good trainer and maybe puppy school. Young dogs need to be taught what is acceptable and what is not, but taught in a way that does not damage their bond and trust with you. Ask your veterinarian for trainer/ school recommendations in your area. I still take my 4 year old do to school “refresher “ Lessons every few months. It keeps us both remembering how to communicate . Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
