Zak had a tick, but body had fallen off. your subject of LYME disease in cats can cause a saliva problem. the vet said it was not a problem that the head had remained. please can you advise the saliva issues. Zak has joint swelling, drinks a lot & at the start of his problem had no appetite. We thought he was going to die in Dec 16. his licking & scratching is consent & has discoloured his fur. 6.9.16 his head as stayed the same but his paws legs are now a dirty cream, his body Ginger.

The symptoms you are describing are certainly consistent with Lyme disease. If a tick was found on your cat - even if the body fell off - it is possible that he may have contracted Lynne disease (if it is prevalent i. Your area). Have your veterinarian perform an ELISA Snap test to rile this out before considering any other possibilities.
