My dog and cat share food and water bowls. Is this safe or harmful?

My dog and cat absolutely love each other. They insist on sharing a water bowl and sometimes food. Any harm in this?

Hello, that is very cute. The only harm may be is that one of them may become overweight. You should still feed your kitty cat food and your pup, dog food. It would be best if they ate separate to control their weights and portions. This can be achieved by feeding them in different rooms. Sharing their water bowl is fine.     It isn't harmful for them to use the same bowl. But, the Pomeranian should be fed a well balanced dog food and the kitten needs a well balanced kitten food as they have different nutritional requirements. There isn't a food that can meet both of their nutritional needs. It is sweet the get along so well.
