Chicken who had not begun laying yet discharged a egg and yolk like substance with no shell or membrane. Should I give her oyster shells?

Hi there and thanks for posting! This is not uncommon for chickens who are just beginning to lay eggs. They may pass an egg without much a shell a few times before passing an egg with an intact shell. Yes, you may give her free choice oyster shells for added calcium. I hope this helps and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
