Does Petco offer affordable spay/neuter and microchip services?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Airedale Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years and 2 months old | 65 lbs

Do you do "low cost" spay & neuter? What about microchip? What are the fees for both services? Thank you.

Spay and neuter services are not offered at vaccination clinics. The microchip price is $15 at most Petco/Vetco locations. You can find additional pricing information here: https://www.vetcoclinics.com/services-and-clinics/vaccination-packages-and-prices/

Petco does offer exams for puppies, just call your local Petco to make an appointment with the veterinary clinic. I think it's an excellent idea you do a vet check before purchasing, that is extremely responsible ownership! A microchip typically costs around $45-$80. Speak to the clinic to get an exact price. Good luck!

VETCO clinics have a website. You can check their website for prices and clinic times in your area. They do FIV testing. These are clinics held inside Petco stores. ( https://www.vetcoclinics.com/services-and-clinics/clinic-locations-and-schedules/?zip=10304 ) VETCO does not do blood testing or spay/neuter services in your area. I suggest you refer to this link for spay/neuter services in your area. ( http://www.animalalliancenyc.org/yourpet/snprograms.htm )

The Vetco clinics at PetCo don’t do neutering surgery. They do healthy pet vaccinations, deworming and can test him for feline leukemia and feline aids. They can also insert a microchip. Each area has different prices so please check with your local store. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Dexter.
