What causes a hole with pus near my female dog's reproductive part?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 27 lbs

I have seen a hole near the reproductive part of my dog. A pus is coming out from it. Her skin is very lossey and pink near the reproductive part. She is constantly licking it. But she is playing, eating and happy. i found her on street, so I'm not sure about her age. I don't know she is sprayed or not. I couldn't afford a veterian to check her out. So please help me.

She appears to be in heat/season, which indicates that she is not spayed. The licking may be due to the fact that the reproductive tract is swollen (normally happens when they are in season). I see a small area near the vulva that may be the hole you are describing. If pus is coming out, then it's important to keep it clean by flushing the hole with clean water everyday. You should flush with a syringe using good pressure for five minutes twice a day. Do not put any soaps of antiseptics (iodine, sprits, etc.) on the area, because this can make things worse. The redness may be due to her being in season, or could be related to an infection. If it's an infection, then it may need antibiotics in order to clear it, but you would need a vet doctor to evaluate her and prescribe that medication. It's best if you can find an animal rescue organization in your area to help you with Tofy. These organizations are set-up to help stray dogs like Tofy. They can also help to get her spayed (I highly recommend you get this done). I hope that helps and Tofy gets better soon.
