My cat is suddenly acting strange and seems to be in pain. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Male | neutered | 5 years and 9 months old

My cat has come in tonight and is acting completely out of character. Seems to be in pain - hunched, laying on me limply (actively chose to lie on me), whimpering, dilated pupils with one inner eyelid not quite opening always when his eyes open. Not keen on being touched but having felt legs, spine, tummy, head, has no specific area of pain. No wounds. Bad breath (worse than usual). Just not sure what to think. He's laid asleep in my seat now, on his side, unfurled.

Hello there. Since Konker seems to be very painful and is not acting like himself, I recommend taking him to the veterinarian for a check up as soon as you can. Your veterinarian may need to do some bloodwork and/or x-rays to determine why Konker is not acting like himself. Hope this helps and that Konker feels better soon!
