Why is my dog still limping, not eating, and sleeping after vet visit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 15 lbs

A couple of months ago my dog started to limp. And as time went on it got worse and worse. He started to sleep all day everyday, wouldn't eat, his stomach got smaller and his back looks a bit arched, we took him to the vet and they said he's fine and gave us some pills but now all he does is sleep, barely gets up and he always looks like he's in pain

I'm worried that there's something much more serious going on with Shark. It seems odd that the vet didn't suggest some tests, but moving forwards, you should perhaps take him to a different vet office if you can. They will need to run blood tests an probably recommend xrays. Take the medicine with you, or if its all gone, take the invoice or receipt.
