Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 8 lbs
I picked up a stray cat and kept him in my bathroom as my shelter is not accepting strays right now due to panleuk. He had a little bit of fur missing on the bridge of his nose and within a few days all the skin/fur on his nose came off in one big scab with healthy tissue and a little bit of fur underneath. We did a ringworm culture, and after a week it is totally clear. Does ringworm ever behave like this? Trying to decide if I can let him out of isolation. It was never scaly, crusty, or seepy.

Unfortunately it could still be ringworm - I usually run a culture for 2 weeks. Your vet could dispense a topical miconazole (e.g Conzol) to apply to the lesion. It also could have been an injury from a wound that scabbed up and then fell off. I would err on the side of caution and keep him isolated for 1 more week. Practice good hand hygiene also to prevent you getting or spreading it if its contagious.
