My neutered cat isn't eating, drinking, or vomiting. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 6 months and 29 days old | 8 lbs

I have a 6 month old male cat who was neutered on October 27th, 3 days ago. 24 hours after he was acting normal with only some diarrhea. Yesterday and today he has stopped eating/drinking. This morning he started vomiting clear mucus. He is sleeping more then usual. We kept an E collar on him so he hasn't kicked the incision site, and the site looks normal. What should I be worried about?

I am sorry Miso is not feeling well. I would recommend taking Miso to the vet for a good exam, It is possible that Miso has gotten sick and it is not related to the neuter. Some cats can be sensitive to certain medications but can also get viral disease that can cause vomiting and anorexic. IT is best to have his temperature taken and a good exam to help determine why he is sick and proper treatment. I hope that helps
