Can I put Seresto collars back on my dogs after Capstar and Sentinel?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 43 lbs

I have a 2 yr old large breed dog pitbull shepherd and a 4 month old gsd they both are going nuts from flea. All animals have had soresto collars on for about 3 mo now. They seemed to work until now. We got sentinel for our pup for parasites and gave both dogs a dose a couple days ago. Took off soresto for a day. We just gave a dose of cap star because they are itching and whinning. Can we put the soresto collars back on safely?

Giving Sentinel or Capstar will not interact with the Seresto collars, so you do not need to take them off before giving those medications. It will take a little time (a couple of days) for the collars to start working again while the medication spreads from the collar onto their skin, so go ahead and put them back on. If you are still having problems with fleas, be sure to talk to your veterinarian. And if the fleas are gone, but the itching continues, you may need to talk to your veterinarian about options for that. Good luck! I hope that was helpful!
