My cat's ringworm cream rubs off and irritates her eye. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 months and 19 days old

I have applied antifungal cream to her nose and ear because the vet told me she may have ringworm and to apply every eight hours. She keeps rubbing her nose and ear into her eye and that causes it to swell so I get a damp washcloth and rub it away from her eye but this causes the antifungal cream to not stay on her nose. So now there is no use to cream. What do I do

Unfortunately, it sounds like a cream will not be a good option for Ember due to the location. Antifungal creams can be very irritating to the eyes. I have attached a link below that discusses treatment options for ringworm. You may have to change to an oral medication to cure the areas, so I would contact your veterinarian and see what they recommend. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=559 I hope that was helpful.
