Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 months and 28 days old | 5 lbs
Hi, my kitten's right eye has been very watery for the past two days. I am wondering if he could have pink eye, and if so I'm curious if there are any safe over the counter remedies I could try prior to a vet visit. My kitten is six months old and was previously quarantined for an upper respiratory infection before I adopted him (which was only 2 days ago).

Hi and thank you for your post on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach this morning! Sounds like Leon may have an eye infection caused by an infectious virus such as feline herpes virus or calicivirus which are common causes of upper respiratory illnesses in cats, especially in shelter situations. Leon may need to be treated with your vet and placed on antibiotics. Unfortunately, there are no over the counter medications that can help with this issue. Leon will need to see a veterinarian. I hope this helps and best of luck to you and Leon!
