How do I trim my hamster's super long, twisted nails safely?

My hamster has super long nails, and they are twisted, not straight. I’m scared the nails will pierce into her skin. How do I cut them?

You can either take her to your veterinarian for a nail trim or try it yourself. You will want to purchase child/ infant toe nail trimmers. I think it is easiest to turn them sideways to trim the nails. If they are very long and twisted you may need to trim them in sections. Good luck! Thank you for using Pet Coach.
