My dog has IBD. What are safe chew toys for a sensitive stomach?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 14.6 lbs

Piper has inflammatory bowel disease and haven't been able to cut her back on the prednisone so have not tried veggies or other things like that to chew on or treats. She loves to chew but bones are out so are there any toys or something that would be safe for her to chew?

Hello, sorry to hear about Piper. You can try the kong toys which are good for chewing as they are soft enough not to cause teeth fractures but hard enough so that they do not break into pieces that they can ingest. These toys can generally be found at your local per-store or online. Hope this helps and best of luck.
