My cat was healthy, now has a murmur. Can it develop so quickly?

I brought my cat to the vets to get a check and his booster. The vet said that he has a heart murmur. I was shocked. He then said I should het the cat cardiologist to do test. It would cost £600-700+. About 6 weeks before this appointment I brought him to the vet as he spent most of the vomiting. A different vet said he was in good health. Can a cat develop a heart murmur in 6weeks like that??

It's possible but from my experience either the murmur was there before or it was missdiagnosed. either way a murmur without any symptoms does not require you to take him to the cardiologist, it's mainly optional, most pets with a heart murmur will never have any heart problems.
