Why is my dog lethargic, not eating, and drinking a lot during heat?

My staffy cross is 7yrs old and intact. She is currently in season and is off her food and drinking more than usual. She is also very lethargic. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | unspayed | 6 years and 6 months old | 70 lbs

Drinking more than usual, loss of appetite, or vomiting are all classic signs of an infection if the uterus also known as a pyometra. These are more common in older dogs.
