my 2.5 yr old cavalier/Aussie mix developed a third eyelid protrusion in both eyes an hour ago. She also has soft stool and a bit of diarrhea, but seems fine otherwise. She was lying in front of the fireplace 2 hours ago which was quite warm and staring into it. She also ate quite a bit of oat grass 20 hours ago, and she still has allergies that haven't been identified. Right now she is sleeping peacefully next to me. She was squinting her eyes closed before. They also look bloodshot

Poor Suzie! I imagine that she has been looking into the fire which has caused her eyes to become very dry and irritated. Often the 3rd eyelids will protrude to protect the eye or simply because they are themselves inflamed. Alternatively her allergies could be causing a flare up. I would take her into the vet as at the very least she will likely require a lubricating eye drop. It would be good to get the vet to check the eyes and ensure no damage is done.
