Yes, she is probably suffering from an eye infection which is very common in kittens. you will need to take Mika to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, she will need antibiotic eye drops.

Hello there! I'm sorry to hear about Sprinkles' eye. Many kittens have viral upper respiratory diseases that can cause eye discharge (which usually resolve on their own), but it is possible that Sprinkles has an eye infection or injury, so it's probably best that she visits the vet. I worry about eye issues as they can be exacerbated very easily by any scratching or pawing, which is hard to deter in a young cat. While you're waiting for an appointment, keep the eye clean with a soft cloth and warm water. If she starts exhibiting other symptoms like sneezing, nasal discharge, anorexia (not eating), or lethargy, she should get to the vet sooner as she may need further treatment for an upper respiratory infection. Good luck, and I hope that Sprinkles recovers soon!

If you are seeing yellow or green "gunk" or discharge in Scarlet's eyes, it's likely that she has an eye infection - this is a very common problem in kittens. If she does have an infection, you will need prescription antibiotic drops to treat it - so I would recommend taking her to the vet to have this checked as soon as you are able to. In the meantime, you can use a warm washcloth or cotton ball to gently clean her eyes as often as needed to help make her more comfortable.

Congratulations on your new addition! She is adorable! It's a little difficult to tell from the pictures, but I suspect the discharge is clear then turns a little brown. If that is the case, then it may just be normal tearing. However, if the discharge worsens, becomes yellow or green, Pepper begins squinting, or she develops any respiratory signs, I would certainly have your veterinarian examine her. Good luck! And congrats again! I hope that was helpful and answered your question. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
