Why is my unneutered dog crying non-stop near a female in heat?

My dog has been crying non stop for 2 days straight. It’s keeping us up at night. People are saying he might be in heat as there is a female dog in heat that lives up stairs. It is non stop wether we are home or not and I’m getting worried. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 3 months old | 35 lbs

Are any other behaviors abnormal? Is he acting painful or sick? Maybe take him for a walk and see how he does away from the female. If you are still concerned that there may be a medical problem then I would recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian.
