My dog has diarrhea and vomiting. When should I call the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 8 years old | 55 lbs

My 8 year old choc lab had diarrhea Monday out of the blue changed to rice and chicken Tues and weds .Stools then slightly firmer. now added half can normal tinned food but his stools watery again and 8 hours after feeding had small amount vomit. No blood in stools but mucus present. Should I back to rice and chicken for few days more..

I'm sorry to hear Brodie is not doing well. I would definitely change him back to chicken and rice but I would go ahead and take him in since its been 3 or 4 days of an abnormal stool AND he vomited. They will likely check him for parasites and prescribe medications to calm his GI tract. Better to get in under control sooner rather than later. Hope Brodie feels better soon!
