Why is my new hamster sleeping so much and not eating? Is he sick?

I just adopted a hamster almost a week ago at Petco. He's been sleeping almost all the time and I haven't seen him eat much. I am up pretty late most nights so I don't think he's just eating while I'm alseep. Is he ok? Most hamster I know are super active at night. Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Male | 5 days old
