My mini Aussie's eyes get red and bloodshot at night. Is it serious?

After around 9 pm, my dog's eyes become red- sometimes so much, they look bloodshot. He is a mini Aussie and Aussie's are known to have a higher tendency to develop eye problems. This is why I want to know whether this is anything I should be concerned of? If so, are there any ways to treat this? Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Male | neutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 17.63 lbs

Many problems can cause red eyes. Allergies, uveitis, episcleritis, glaucoma, among others. The treatment depends on the underlying problem. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian to decide what therapy would be best.
