My dog is sick, I know she is. Is it normal for gnats to be surrounding her face and mouth. What could it be?

Gnats gathering around moist tissues is often found in dogs that are extremely sick. They can be drawn to areas of infection, and are usually noticed because the dog is not trying to move away from them. It just means that Eris is very, very sick, and should be evaluated by a vet.
