My Sphynx cat has anal seepage and a swollen rear. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Sphynx | Female | spayed | 9 years and 8 months old | 9 lbs

So my cat is a nine year old sphynx and I have noticed that she has been having anal seepage issues and tonight when I got home I noticed that her anal/vaginal area is swollen. I am wondering what it could be? I will be booking her an appointment with a vet in the am for sure just want to know what I can do now for her.

It appears from the photo that Boo has an anal sac abscess. She will need to see the vet for treatment. The abscess needs to be drained and the anal sac flushed out. After that, she will need to be on an antibiotic to clear the infection.
