Are euphorbia plants safe for dogs, or are they all poisonous?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I am looking forward to adding some succulents to my garden but I worry about my dogs a lot. I looked up euphorbia species but it is listed as poisonous. It is quite a broad group and most garden plants fall under that family. Which of the euphorbias are safe for dogs or they are all poisonous?

Hi there! The Euphorbia is a family of plants which is a very broad group of plants as you indicated. Not all our poisonous, however, but most of them do have an irritant sap that is toxic to dogs and other animals. I have included below a list of toxic and non-toxic plants below for your reference: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/dogs-plant-list I hope this helps and thank you for using PetCoach!
