My dog has bloody diarrhea, is lethargic. What to do until vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | neutered | 20 lbs

I have a Jack Russel Terrior, roughtly about 7-8 yrs. of age. He has been lathargic for the last couple of day, has had nasty gas, and today has had diarrhea, which had dark blood in it. There was also drops of a darker blood on floor. His temperature is a little of 101, but his nose is cold. What can I do now (tonight) to help him feel better, until I can get him to a vet tomorrow?

Hello, I am sorry that Jaxon is not feeling well. Other than lots of TLC, there is not much you can do other than trying to keep him drinking. Low sodium broth is always a good option, but do not force him to drink. Do not worry about getting him to eat, unless he will take some skinless chicken, or cooked hamburger. Fortunately, his temperature is perfectly normal. Your vet will figure things out & get Jaxon feeling better soon. Take care.
