My dog has a lump on top of leg that looks like a brain,size of a match box, he's had it now for four years and he is well,what could this be?

It is likely a tumor. It because it has been there so long that decrease the chance it may be cancer. It may be a cyst filled with sebaceous material. I would recommend getting it removed since it is so larger though
