Hi there and thanks for posting! This looks to me like a demodex mite infection which can happen in puppies and may clear on its own but if Mia is an adult, this will need to be treated by a veterinarian. Demodex mites are normally kept in check by the immune system but if the immune system is not functing as it should for whatever reason, the demodex mites can take over and cause hair loss around the eyes, head, and limbs. Demodex mites can be diagnosed by a veterinarian through a skin scraping. Mia will need a special medication for this in order to resolve the infection. Unfortunately there are no home remedies for demodex. Best of luck to you and Mia! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

That looks uncomfortable. Most of the time skin problems in dogs are secondary to allergies. I don’t think that Mia can be fixed with over the counter meds. I’m concerned that she could have a secondary bacterial or fungal infection. She needs an exam by a veterinarian. They can determine if her eyes or affected or if it’s just her skin. They might do diagnostics on her skin or her eyes. I know that it stinks when money is tight, but I really think Mia needs an exam.
