What's a cheaper kidney diet for my senior cat with high BP?

My cat has been on Hills KD for over a year now because of her failing kidneys which is under control now. She also has high BP and is on daily medicine. She is 14. I am a pensioner and the hills is so expensive for me. Is there a cheaper way of feeding without compromising her health. Thank you. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 lbs
