Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered
My dog Pierce has a red lump on the side of his nose. It appeared today when I brought him inside to bathe him and I hadn't seen it before. It looks like a cod sore like humans get but it bigger and rounder. It doesn't look dried out and I'm worried its something bad. My parents think it may be a bee sting but his face isn't swollen at all. Its somewhat like a pimple on his face. Only the spot where the lump is puffy.

This could be from an insect bite or a wound. I would clean it with a damp cloth and then apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on it. Give it a few days to see if it's drying up and healing. If it's getting bigger then I would take Pierce in for a veterinary exam. It could be a mass but it's more likely a small area of infected skin and it will heal in a week or so. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Pierce.
