My dog has a bladder tumor and mucus in stool. Is it cancer related?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 13 years and 9 months old | 56 lbs

My dog has a bladder tumor and always has blood in her urine now. I just started noticing severe mucus in her stool. Is that related to the cancer, maybe spreading to colon now?

Poor Kubia! There may be spread but I think it is unlikely, what I suspect is that the bladder tumour has grown to the extent that it is pressing on the colon. They run in close proximity, this could be causing irritation to the colon. If you are concerned about her quality of life don't hesitate to ask us, or discuss with your vet.
