My 4-month-old white Persian cat has skin issues. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | neutered | 4 months and 16 days old | 7.6 lbs

Hey. I got a male Persian cat a month ago. He is a white 4 month old male. I recently took him to a veterinary clinic for a regular health checkup but they said he’s perfectly fine. He has been having some issue with his skin lately I guess. I’ll attach the photos, it’d be very helpful if you let me know if it’s normal or I should just go visit the vet again?

It looks like Bunny has a skin infection. It may be bacterial, but most likely it is a fungal infection known as ringworm. If that is the case, it is contagious to any other animal and the people in your home. Bunny should go back to a veterinarian to be diagnosed properly and get the appropriate prescription medication. It is important that you wash your hands after handling him, change clothes after picking him up if you have other animals to handle.
