First off, congrats on your pregnancy! What an exciting time for you! Yes, it is possible that Zoe knows you are pregnant. When a women becomes pregnant, her body chemistry changes and this in turn can cause a distinct odor. Dogs have an excellent sense of smell, and they may be able to pick up on this odor. I don't think anyone knows for sure but many people believe that animals can sense when their owners are pregnant. Our scents change due to the hormones and their ears are really good so I wouldn't be surprised if they can hear the baby's heart beat. Plus, he may just really love your pregnancy pillow! :)

How can I tell if my dogs maturing or pregnant?
Unfortunately there's no way to tell for sure at home. I would certainly say that Zaria appears to be either obese or pregnant, and given that she has mammary gland enlargement as well as being overweight I'd bet on pregnancy, especially if she's been around an intact male. But the only way to tell for sure is to take her in to see her vet. Very rarely we can palpate (feel) puppies but the best tool is x-ray - an x-ray taken of her abdomen at this point would likely for sure reveal puppies if she's pregnant.

In the first few weeks, there are very few outward signs, so you may not notice a change. Your dog will seem like her normal self, although she may gain some weight. Morning sickness affects some dogs, but only for a few days during the 3rd or 4th week. By the end of your dog's second trimester, her belly will get bigger. Around this time (by day 40), her nipples will begin to get darker and larger, too. As your pet's due date gets closer, her breasts will enlarge, and a little milky fluid may trickle out.

How to know if my dog is pregnant or not? And if she is and she is very active dog i should chain her to limit movement or leave her and she will get calm by her self and when should i expect this calmness what day in the pregnancy.
Thanks for your question. There are tests that can be done by your veterinarian to determine if Soska is pregnant after about 3 weeks including ultrasound, x-ray, and blood tests. As she is farther along you will notice enlargement of her nipples and mammary glands. Often a decrease in energy is noticed as early as two weeks into pregnancy, although this isn't always the case. You do not need to limit her activity, she will do this on her own. There is not a simple pregnancy test like we have for people, so you will have to wait a bit to know for sure. I hope this helps.

My dog is around 58 days pregnant and has had a lot of discharge for 5 days now. She also will only eat about one meal per day. Just now she left a puddle of clear discharge on my couch. Does this mean labor is coming soon?
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Zoey. Yes, she is likely getting close to going into labor. Due dates can vary a fair amount. Monitor her for other signs such as pacing, panting, restlessness and nesting behavior. If you have any concerns, be sure to have her evaluated by her veterinarian. If your dog was in heat and was bred with a male then it is possible she is pregnant. If she is having complications or you are unsure, having your vet examine Zoey to confirm the pregnancy and rule out any other health issues is best.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and I would like to help offer some suggestions to help you with your dogs new behaviour concerns. Dogs and humans share a very close bond, especially when you have had them in your life for as long as 6 years. Though your dogs may not understand the exact details of what is changing with you, they are aware of a change. This is causing Kaygee to feel unsettled. This is not abnormal at all, and I can suggest a few tactics to try; Dog appeasing pheromone (DAP) adaptors in the house DAP collars for the dogs Increased excercise Increased interaction and positive connection with you, including extra cuddles, walks, or even indoor games like hide and seek Thunder coat Positive reinforcement of positive interactions I would suggest trying a few of these tactics over the next few weeks. Hello, sorry to hear about Bella. Dogs may indeed sense a change in people which can than indirectly affect their behaviors. However, I would recommend having Bella evaluated as she may herself be undergoing a false pregnancy. This could cause behavioral changes in her as well. Other health issues that may cause her to have behavioral changes but are less likely may include cushings disease. Hope this helps and best of luck.

The only way to know for sure Zyra is pregnant is have her seen by a vet in another couple of weeks for x-rays and a blood test looking for the hormone relaxin to confirm that she is pregnant. It is possible that she may not get pregnant off five stud sessions if she wasn't mated at the right time in her heat, but hopefully she is pregnant. It's lovely you want to be a vet! The best advice I can give you is to study really hard and get lots of animal experience in a vet's office. It's not an easy road to become a vet, it's a lot of time and hard work, but if you apply yourself and work for it, it can happen :-)

Is Luna pregnant? She was just In heat a while ago and she went missing for one night... but she did come back.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is a possibility but dogs can also have fake pregnancies- all the signs of a pregnancy but with no fetuses. I recommend taking her to a vet for an exam. They can take an X-ray 45 days after mating or look sooner with an ultrasound. Good luck and kisses to Luna!
