Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Mastiff | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 140 lbs

I went to let my English mastiff out this morning and noticed this . He is licking it and it seems to be bothering him a bit. Do you have any idea what it is?

HI there and thanks for the picture! It looks like he has been scooting or licking his rear end to relieve some irritation- likely due to full anal sacs that need to be expressed. You may want to take Sarg to his vet or groomer to have his anal sacs expressed. I hope this helps and best wishes!
