My dog needs Benefiber for anal glands. How should I give it?

I had already posted a question received an answer about my vet prescribing human fiber by the name of benefiber he told me to start out with a half a teaspoon twice a day and increase to 1 teaspoon twice a day my question is tiny is 13 lbs this is trying to solve an anal gland issue and I had read that this should not be sprinkled over food in dogs it’s not a dog prescribed fiber because it can cause blockage is it safe to continue to give it to him this way or mix with liquid first thank u

Benefiber can be used either way in dogs. If you choose to use it dry, just make sure to mix it well in the dry food so that it coats the kibble and is not just a solid scoop that could be taken in one bite. If you choose to dissolve it, use a small amount of water, and then mix that into Tiny's food. In such small quantities I think that a blockage would be unlikely, but if you see Tiny vomiting or being extremely lethargic with a poor appetite, he should be evaluated by a vet.
