My dog's toe lump is growing. What's surgery cost? Is a skin graft needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 100 lbs

Dog has a lump on his toe. I was told it was an inflamed nodule, if the medicine didn't work or continues to grow bigger he would need surgery. Now the lump has probably doubled in size, called to vet to ask cost of surgery(pretty broke right now) said about $350 depending on how long it take but if its too big they may have to do skin graft to cover what is taken. Its pretty big lump for a toe, now the messed question is if a skin graft is needed is it an accepted and cost efficient toe instead

I am sorry that Diesel has a growth on his toe. It looks like a possible histiocytoma. This is a non cancerous growth that younger dogs will get. IF it is getting bigger I do recommend having it surgically removed. unfortunately I cannot tell by the picture if a skin graft is needed but I would think the surgeon would have enough skin to close the region normally., I hope that helps
