My senior dog has blood-filled moles and skin tags. What are they?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Labrador | Female | spayed | 9 years and 6 months old | 79 lbs

My dog has what looks like large moles growing under her chin on the saggy part! They are squidgy and filled with blood. She also has a lot of blood filled skin tags all over her. She’s a 10 year old labrador. What could they be? Thank you

I would recommend that you have Varna evaluated by a vet. From your description, she may have many small hemangiomas. These types of tumors are usually benign, but can keep popping up. If they rupture they can bleed and become infected. From the picture, the mass could be a hemangioma, or something else like a mast cell tumor. Your vet will be able to examine Varna, and may take a small sample of cells with a needle for examination under a microscope. Once they have a better idea of what the mass is made of, they can recommend an appropriate treatment, if any.
