How to help outdoor kittens when I have a dog and it's cold outside?

Well we have two kittens that aren’t neccessarily stray because my mom and I we look after them at night because it gets cold outside and the mom is nowhere to be found and I really want to help the kittens but I already have a dog . What do I do to help the kittens

How lovely of you to look after these kittens! Your first option is to take them into the SPCA. They can get them checked out by a vet and find them a home for them. You could bring them inside when it's cold at night, but keep them in their own room separate from your dog. Make sure they have a litter box, food, and water in their room. Finally, you can make a shelter for them outside with blankets to help keep them warm at night. I hope this helps :-)

Oh they are so cute! From the picture, it looks like they may be old enough to be on a kitten food, and I will give you a method to get them onto it. If you don't want to keep them, I recommend taking them into the SPCA in the morning. The SPCA can get them the medical treatment they need and can find them a home. To help them get used to dry food, I would soak a high quality kitten formulated dry food in warm water until soft. Then mix that with kitten formula such as KMR to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry kitten food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until they are eating the dry kitten food only.

I would set up a warm bed for them, and put in something like a hot water bottle covered in towels. They are just over four weeks old, and while it's time for them to wean, they are probably better with their mother. If the temperatures keep dropping, however, I would move them indoors.

my dog just had puppies ,she had them in her dog house outside. its getting really cold outside now and she wont let me bring her or the pups inside, she will just take them back to her dog house. what should I do ?
You can move everyone indoors and confine her and the litter to a small, warm room or you can insulate the dog house and protect it from the elements. I would hesitate to recommend placing a heat source for fear of fire or burns.

Thank you for your questions about Patio Cat. Certainly providing a warm bed and a place to get out of the wind/weather will help. Many people will use a styrofoam cooler with a hole cut out to hold in the heat. Provide fresh food and water. Make the food a high quality such as Royal Canin, Purina ProPlan or Iams. Certainly you can have this cat vaccinated, treated for parasites and even spay/neutered. Outdoor cats can produce many kittens, they can also act as a source of fleas and intestinal worms, cats who are not fixed can also be more prone to fighting and getting injured. Many cities offer programs to help spay, neuter and vaccinate homeless cats and I recommend to look into one of these. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Kittens can die from being too cold. You can confine the Mom with kittens to a small room so she has to stay close and take care of them. If you need to make sure the temperature inside is warm and they have blankets and towels to cover up in to help stay warm. If they are not nursing well you can supplement with bottle feeding or place them on the Mom and sit with her to make sure she lays with them. If you bottle feed then you will have to do so it every 2-4 hours to keep them full

You need to keep her warm inside your home 27/7, a carton box with fleece or other warm cloths would be a good option, you can also use warm bottles under the cloths. it's important to feed her kitten milk replacer only, normal milk is not good enough for kittens, she can't survive on it. you can buy kitten milk replacer in any pet shop.

My 1 year old dog had puppies on March 24 and it's supposed to get down to 30°F tonight I was wondering if I need to bring the puppies inside I made sure their dog house was warm.
It's probably best to bring them inside, but it really depends on how warm their kennel is. If you can be sure that the kennel does not drop below 70 degrees F, then the pups should be fine. If you can't ensure this, then I would bring them inside to be safe. Hello, cats are hardy pets and very loving. You may start by making sure they are all vaccinated, dewormed, and tested for FIV/FeLV. You may then bring them inside small amounts at a time to get them acquainted to your home. If they are doing ok while inside, you may extend the time spent inside so that they get can experience the indoors. While inside you should feed them wet food and give them love so that they know that it is ok to be inside. This usually gets them liking their new home and makes for a smoother transition. My cat had kittens under my house this morning. But two of them were born outside in my yard. She just left them there with their umbilical cords and placentas attached. What do I do. She’s never done this with previous litters.
Poor Kittens. You can try to clean them up and take them to her with the rest of the kittens. If she still rejects them then I would try to start bottle feeding them with KMR kitten formula. You would need to feed them every 2-3 hours. You can use a syringe or a kitten bottle. You will also need to stimulate their rear ends using a damp warm cloths after each feeding to help the pee and poop. Just be forewarned that kittens that are bottle fed from day 1 take a lot of nurturing and sometimes do not survive. I hope this helps!

Yes there is a chance. However I suggest you take the kitten inside your house. It is winter and it is very cold and cats need warmth and it is very small and needs a lot of love.. It will be much happier and you will have a friend. You will need a cat litter box.
