My dog took Tramadol. Why is she not eating or losing her appetite?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 45 lbs

I'm just wondering if Tramadol can cause a dog to have a decreased or lose the appetite? My dog was recently put on this medication and now she's not wanting to eat much since taking it.

Tramadol can have a sedatitive effect that can depress activity level and appetite in higher doses. If your dog is only on this medication short term then I would not be very concerned. However if this is going to be used long term I would discuss changing the medication or the dose with the vet who prescribed it.
