Can I breed parakeets in a cage with other parakeets safely?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have three parakeets in a big cage I'm wanting to breed the pair once but I dont know if they will attack the other parakeet All of the babies will be staying with me it seems like every few months the pair changes up and they start sitting together There were fights in the past but I separated them in separate cages then put them back together and they are bonded again They all kiss a mirror so idk whos even a pair since it changes up I've had one a while and the other two for a year plus

A breeding pair should be kept alone unless you have one male with two females. If you have two males, they may fight over the hen. The proper environment, nesting box and diet will be necessary for a successful breeding.
