My 12-year-old Golden has a lump under her ear. Can it be removed?

My 12 year old golden has a large lump under her left ear that I believe started by her lymphnode node. Is that something that could be removed? Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | spayed | 12 years and 3 months old | 70 lbs

Hi. If her lymph node is enlarged, I would recommend it be tested via needle cell check called cytology. This can be done awake and be able to rule out infection or cancer. I'm concerned because as animals get older we worry more about cancer. I'd get checked asap
