My senior Chihuahua is peeing a lot and throwing up. Is it the new food?

Hi, I have a 11or 12 yr old Chihuahua recently he has been urinating like 7 to 8 times a day and he also threw up today. We changed he food and it seems like he had been acting like this right after the food change? Do you think this can be a possibility? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 8 lbs

A sudden change in diet can cause vomiting and diarrhea but usually does not affect the urine production. at that age I would be worried about kidney disease, diabetes, bladder disease or prostrate problems causes these symptoms. Your vet can check his blood work to evaluate for kidney disease and diabetes then pursue an ultrasound for the bladder and prostate if needed
