My cat is anemic and has high reticulocytes. What does it mean?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 13 lbs

My cat reticulocyte is high 69, what does that mean? He's slightly anemic as well.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Reticulocytes indicate a regenerative response by the bone marrow. It is an indicator that the bone marrow is working hard to make more red blood cells (regenerative response) which is a good sign in the face of anemia. I hope this helps!
