My kitten has worms. Do they die after leaving her body on surfaces?

Hello! I am just wondering, I noticed yesterday that my kitten has worms, cannot get her to the vet until tomorrow night after work. Worried about worms that come out of her and get on the carpet and furniture. Do they die after they leave the body?

Yes, adult worms will not survive in the environment but the eggs can survive in fecal matter so be sure to clean up after any accidents. Take a sample of the worms for identification to be sure she gets the most appropriate treatment as soon as possible
