Pet's info: Dog | Husky | Male | neutered | 2 years and 8 months old | 50 lbs

Hello! I just noticed that my dog has some sores around his mouth, they look to be on his lips. They are on both sides but are worse on the bottom. We also noticed some yellow crust around the areas. He got neutered last Tuesday, Nov. 10th, and has been wearing a cone since. I do have photos if needed! Thank you in advance!

This is a lip fold infection. Since he's had the cone on there may be more moisture in the lip fold and that may have started the infection. I recommend washing this area twice daily with a warm wash cloth and after eating to keep the area clean. Usually this will heal on its own when kept clean. If it's not healing bring Oso in for an exam. They will look at this and probably prescribe an ointment for treatment. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Oso.
