Is Epsom salt good for pet paw infections? When to stop pain meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Labrador | Female | unspayed | 5 years and 7 months old | 90 lbs

Any kind of infection will be fine if I treat my pet's paw with epsum salt in water ? My pet is having hip joint fracture and is under medication, I hav given pain killer for almost 2 weeks, should I stop pain killer now as much pain killer would not be good for her health

The salt water bath is good for all types of infection, because it creates an environment that microbes can't survive in. The need for pain medication depends on Jenny's current condition and this should be discussed with the vet that prescribed medication, because they will know the best about Jenny's specific condition. I hope that helps and Jenny gets better soon.
