Why is my 7-month-old kitten not eating his wet food or much dry food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7 months and 2 days old | 6 lbs

Hello. My kitty is 7 months, acting normal, and going to the bathroom regularly...but he is not eating much. He used to love his wet food, now won't touch it. He still eats kitten chow, but not much. This has been going on for several days.

Poor Charlie! He could have a problem with his teeth or he might have an infection or parasite making him not want to eat. Since it has been going on for a couple days, he really should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. Your vet can run some lab-work, if needed, to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to treat. Hope he feels better soon!
