My snake is aggressive and squeezing. Does it need more food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

He is starting to get a little fiesty. When I say that, he is starting to tighten around my hand and squeeze, he struck at my phone and a bottle water. He eats 1-2 mice in one feeding, depending on size of mouse. I can pull him out no problem, but then he starts to squeeze my hand, or if on the bed he tends to stretch over leg and squeeze. Instead of once a week feedings, do I need to go twice a week? He's roughly between 2-3 feet. Included recent pics of him, recent within yesterday and Friday.

Consider bumping him up to a juvenile rat (or small adult) once a week. An exam with an experienced herp veterinarian would also be recommended to diagnose illness or injury. Frequently, either may result in behavioral changes or sudden aggression.
